I retyped this from memory so the actual menu items could be named slightly different, but it should be pretty obvious. It might take a couple of tries of Quitting and Relaunching RetroArch for it to work. Launch RetroArch again, but this time, try to use the PS4 controller. Step 2: Once you’ve selected the Retroarch settings menu, you will see a whole host of options to choose from. Go back a screen, then left twice to get to the main menu. Step 1: Look in the Retroarch main app window and use the Left / Right arrow keys on the keyboard, or use the mouse to select the Retroarch settings menu option. Select Save AutoConfig (with your other remote, not the PS4 controller). Press each button on the PS4 controller as it asks you to on the screen. To enter pairing mode on your PS4 controller, just press and hold the Share button. Set Inputs for each controller 1 and 2: Navigate to Settings Navigate to Inputs Navigate to Port 1 Binds Ensure Device Index is set to Controller Name 1 Return to Inputs configuration menu Navigate to Port 2 Binds Ensure Device Index is set to Controller Name 2 Set Device Type to MultiTap MultiTap is only available when SNES core is loaded. RetroArch is the reference implementation of the libretro API. Press a button on the PS4 controller and you see it appear in the 3rd item down on this list. Retropie Config Controller The RetroPie image I used was provided. Launch RetroArch, press Right twice, select Input. He had to use another device navigate the menus (in this case he used the Fire TV remote). WHY WON'T IT SAVE? Basically everything that says 'save' in the menu I have pressed hoping my configs will save but they NEVER do.I walked a buddy through configuring his DS4 that came with his PS4 Pro and its working fine. Then I can play happily until I'm done, just to do it it again next time I open RA Bind the fast-forward hotkey to the controller, and enable frame rate sync or whatever the last option is called in the frame skip menu. Leave DS4windows ON and do not hide the controller, remap the controller in RA settings not in the game settings (it never works right in the game). Now I just change the few binds I need to before I play every time. Update: I've tried everything here and nothing works consistently. I thought Retroarch was gonna be easy but I've spent more time in the 3 days trying to configure it than I have actually playing on it. I understand the concept of the retropad, but not Xinputs or Dinputs whatever they mean. 4) On RetroArch Quick Menu, go to Controls > Port 1 Controls. 3) Once the PlayStation game has been run, open the RetroArch Quick Menu (on default configuration, press F1 on the keyboard). The menu system is a graphical way of making changes to RetroArch configurations and has 4 different drivers (RGUI, XMB, GLUI, Ozone), but the RGUI driver is the most common. Ensure the PlayStation game supports vibration. RetroArch is the Frontend for the Libretro API and makes a up a large portion of the emulators included in RetroPie. I also had the global hotkeys mapped so that my R2 button activates the fast-forward, is there a way to save it like that? 2) Load the PlayStation game you want to play. Its driving me insane! I had it working 2 nights ago, and when I go to play this morning I can't get it figured out. It always ends up using Square or Circle as A and X as B. I can't seem to be able to map it so my X and Circle are A and B respectively. It has 16 buttons - most importantly it has SIX face buttons instead of the four that the RA Retropad abstraction layer is designed for. The menu controls have changed, assuming because I'm playing a game, thats annoying. Now I'm trying to configure it for GBA (using Mednafen GBA core) games and it wont recognize the DS4, only the Retropad with (Xinputs I think). Before I had to use X as the 'back' button and Circle as 'forward' which goes against all of my muscle memory. So it took me while (too long) to figure out retroarch had DS4 controller presets and that helped me make sense of the menu. Only the joystick is working and I dont get why. Hi, I'm trying to set-up Retroarch to use with my DS4 and I'm having lots of problems.įirstly, I'm still on Windows 7 and I'm using DS4Windows PS4 Controllers configuration with retroarch custom config Problems GamePad/GPIO/USB encoder ps4 retroarch config 2 7 5.7k Log in to reply eightkiller, 10:08 Hy, i got a problem with my custom retroarch config with PS4 controllers.
